Let’s be honest, not all projects turn out the way you imagine them at the beginning. This can be due to external causes, your own mistakes, or simply because things don’t flow as they should.
At Beat Films, we know and are very aware that mistakes are also part of the process. What’s really important is knowing how to react and how to solve problems when something doesn’t go as expected.
First, you tend to get frustrated, but the key is to stop, review what you’re doing, look at what went wrong and whether it was avoidable or not. This way, we can find real solutions.
The important thing is to know how to rectify in time.
Talk to the client, explaining what happened, what alternatives there are, and what you have thought of to solve the problem. Being honest generates more trust than trying to hide the mistake you made.
Every project that does not turn out as expected always leaves you with something to learn, whether it be about planning, technical issues, or communication. Take note so as not to repeat it; the key is to learn from the mistake.
Even if the work was not perfect, it is always good to celebrate everything else that went well, such as a spectacular design, good teamwork, good ideas, etc. There is a middle ground between black and white.
A mistake is not synonymous with failure, nor does it make you less professional. It makes you human and helps you grow with your brand and your work.
