This project at Beat Films was one of the most memorable for us, as it was our first comprehensive production project. It all began when the Red Cross contacted us to create a commercial about their 150th anniversary, for which we came up with the idea called ‘A Sea of Humanity.’ Based on that proposal, we thought of making a video using the metaphor of a drop of water, small and humble, to symbolise every act of solidarity, every volunteer and the aid provided by the Red Cross and all those who collaborate with it.

Although a single drop may not seem like much, many drops together form a sea, which is what the title aims to convey. Throughout the advert, we wanted to highlight the work of the Red Cross during these 150 years of service.

After sending them our work, the team really liked it, and from there came the proposal to organise an event for them about the 150 years of the Red Cross in Asturias, which was attended by 500 people at the Palacio de Congresos in Oviedo. We got to work, bearing in mind that the decoration had to be in keeping with the concept, which was based on the commercial we had made. Another factor to consider was the venue where the event was to be held, which in this case was very large for the number of attendees. These are all details that may seem insignificant but have an influence when it comes to decorating the stage, as we had to make it feel welcoming.

Our idea was to decorate the stage with elements that would be ideal for this type of event. To do this, we used red lighting to create a warm and relaxed atmosphere, which also conveys humanity and solidarity, as red is the representative colour of the Red Cross. We added large letters spelling out the name of the event, as this conveys a sense of strength for the 150 years, and leaves hanging from them to show the connection between nature and humanity.

We were also responsible for creating the category videos that would be projected on the screen during the event. Of course, for an event as important as this one, hostesses are always needed, and it was our responsibility to find those staff members, as well as take photographs of the event and conduct the entire ceremony.

We are very happy with the outcome of this event. We will always remember it, as it all started with a commercial, and they liked it so much that they decided to organise this event with us. The fact that the Asturias Red Cross chose us to organise it is an opportunity for growth for our company that we greatly value.

Furthermore, we are delighted to receive congratulations from colleagues who already knew us for the production and work behind it all.

We would like to thank the Asturias Red Cross for trusting us with events like this and for allowing us to contribute our humble drop to ultimately create an ocean of humanity.
